I am super excited to begin writing this blog post! The entire adventure began with one simple Facebook message, to Desiree.
I was in the v-berth of my boat one morning...doing what I always do on a weekend morning--watching and catching up on all my Youtube sailing subscriptions. When i cam across the exciting/life changing episode from Jordan & Desiree--the one where Jordan proposes! I was so happy to see it, and it was suggested to me by someone near and dear to me, Tyler that I reach out and see if they need a photographer. I figured the video was old (in youtube land...videos that are posted are typically months behind the filming date!)...BUT this time, nope...only 2 weeks. Luck and chance were in my favor big time. I took a deep breath and wrote the FB Message. Mind you, I was nervous as a kitten reaching out to a few youtube stars. ;)
The rest is literally history. A few back and forth messages about pricing/how we could pull it off, and I was chosen to document their wedding day....in the coolest of locations--Isla Mujeres, MX. After months and months of messaging back and forth, doing research on the island and locations of the day (there were three!), we were all set. I called in the troops--Heather, Adam...but also knew I would need a second photographer as well. That is where I found the amazing Catherine Eichel, again...on FACEBOOK. We chatted and decided working together seemed like a winner idea. Working with Catherine was like winning the sweepstakes. She was from Colorado...but just happened to be in Mexico the same time I was!! Fate....at work again!
To sum up a long story, please enjoy a peek into their wedding day. Also, please PLEASE go and look them up on Youtube, or click this link: Sailing Atticus. I cannot say enough about these two, and how amazing they are as a couple and just two kick ass sailing individuals. They will be starting a patreon page soon...so be on the look out, and also the 2nd season is on its way too soon! I got to see the trailer while in Mexico--and it is going to be soooo much fun to watch and enjoy.
